Tobio Kageyama, an egocentric king, has always been a skilled volleyball player. But ever since that one incident back in middle school, where his teammates abandoned him, he's felt alone and useless. After being benched, he vowed he would never play volleyball again. It's his first year at Karasuno High School and he walks into class late because he overslept. Everyone ignores him except an "orange-haired dumbass." But what happens when this "orange-haired dumbass" comes up to him and swears he will get Kageyama to join the Karasuno volleyball team?

"Nothing will change how I feel. You can't make me do something I don't want to do." Kageyama bluntly stated. With this, he turned around and walked out of the gymnasium, feeling no change in his heart. Leaving the shorty standing in the middle of the volleyball court; tears in his eyes.
