'I am not afraid of death..not anymore. I am afraid of life, a life that's without you! Promise me you'll never leave me.' Maya wishpered urgently in Dhruv ears, as they huddled together in the crumbling structure.
As cold water rushed all around them, Dhruv knew he had to make a choice. The rooftop they were huddling on cannot support their combined weight. Maya was much lighter than him. If he jumped, maybe she will survive. He will not. But does that matter? She has the best chance of survival.
'I promise I will always love you. But you need to live, to remember what we had. We can't both die today. If you live I will live as well. You will see me everyday. Every where. I promise. Just let me go now' with that Dhruv pushed her deep into the wedge under the boulder. Before Maya knew it, the building collapsed, taking Dhruv with it. The last thing she saw was his crooked smile, the same one the wore when he got better of her.
It's been three years. He has kept his promise. He came to her very night, in her Dreams. And in the day, she saw him in their son. But what happens when he comes back in flesh, the same Dhruv, but without his crooked smile, and without any memories of her.
