There are many dilemmas to returning home after a long time away. Sometimes returning means opening old wounds and remembering, and sometimes returning means being even more lost than you were before. 
Sometimes returning means all of the above plus time travel and trouble. Tea wasn't ready to face any of that. Sometimes returning means forgetting, and for Tea the cost of remembering might just be her life.
The ice broke. The girl lived. And fate found Tea and the Doctor together again: for better or worse.

After saving them from a crack in their wall, The Doctor leaves with the promise of returning five minutes later, so when he returns later than expected, there's no wonder why they've changed. Despite everything, Amelia and Avalyn decide to travel the universe, through time and space, with The Doctor, in his TARDIS. As time goes by, The Doctor starts to notice that Avalyn's eyes catch the attention of everyone they meet, and it annoys him that he can't figure out why. But with cracks in the skin of the universe appearing, The Doctor can't seem to find the time to work it out.
