Yet peace, as she knows, is never lasting. When Lord Elrond summons her to Rivendell to attend the Council, Elenneth is drawn once more into the turning of fate. The question of the One Ring demands a choice no elf can ignore, and she soon finds herself stepping onto a road darker and more dangerous than any she has known-joining the Fellowship bound for Mordor. Among their number is Legolas Greenleaf, whose past with Elenneth is tangled with unresolved conflict and unspoken wounds.
