Miles is sixteen when he starts his first Saturday afternoon shift at work. He's nervous, doesn't really know what he's doing, and just hopes he doesn't mess anything up.
That's when he meets Martin.
At first, they're just coworkers who happen to work the same shift every weekend. After a few months, they become work friends. Then they're hanging out outside of work, texting almost every day, and before long they're best friends. Somewhere along the way, Miles realizes his feelings have become something more.
Six months after they first met, Miles tells Martin that he's in love with him. Instead of pushing him away, Martin admits he's been trying to understand his own feelings. He's never really questioned his sexuality before, but with Miles, everything feels different. Together they figure things out, and Martin realizes he's bisexual.
When summer arrives, they decide to travel across Europe together. They visit cities they've always wanted to see, spend way too much money on train tickets and snacks, get lost more than once, and make memories they'll never forget.
But not everything is as easy as it should be. As they travel through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and beyond, they also run into the reality that not everyone accepts two boys in love. Between quiet moments, first kisses and the freedom of being together, they learn that love can be both the easiest and hardest thing in the world.
This is a story about first love, growing up, figuring out who you are, and finding someone who makes every journey feel like home.
