In 1850s New Orleans, Francessca Montclair lives a quiet, isolated life haunted by the same dream every night: a shadowed man with crimson eyes reaching for her in the darkness. After losing both of her parents to yellow fever, Sophia becomes obsessed with death and ancient burial rituals, finding comfort in dusty books rather than society or marriage. Her life changes when her brother returns from the Caribbean with an ancient Latin text titled The Crimson Damned and a mysterious Italian aristocrat named Alessandro Bellandi. As Francessca translates the book, she uncovers the story of a Roman soldier cursed with immortality after making a dark bargain in ancient Egypt. For over two thousand years, he has wandered the earth as a vampire, searching for the woman destined to save him. The dreams that have haunted Sophia are not dreams at all, but memories of a connection older than death itself.

Vala, the elder twin by mere minutes, stood as the protective shield between her naive sister Dotty and the cruel whims of their circus master, Mr. Mint. Behind his charming, eccentric facade, Mr. Mint hid a sinister nature, exploiting the sisters' talents for his own twisted desires. Vala's keen intuition always sensed the danger lurking beneath Mr. Mint's sugary smile, while Dotty's innocence made her vulnerable to his manipulations. But Vala's own world was now unraveling. Haunting nightmares and visions plagued her, featuring a mysterious twin who mirrored her and Dotty's identical features. The phantom twin's desperate cries for help echoed in Vala's mind, leaving her with an unsettling sense of foreboding. As Vala's grip on reality began to slip, her usually flawless contortionist performances suffered. She stumbled, lost focus, and made uncharacteristic mistakes. The pressure mounted, and Vala wondered: Was she losing her grip on sanity, or was something more sinister at play? With each passing night, the visions intensified. The unknown twin's pleas grew louder, more urgent. Vala became convinced that this mysterious sibling was in grave danger, and that their connection was more than just a product of her fevered imagination. Determined to unravel the mystery, Vala began to investigate the depths of Mr. Mint's twisted circus. She scoured the shadows, seeking answers to the questions swirling in her mind: Who was this phantom twin? What did she want from Vala? And what secrets lay hidden beneath the circus's glittering facade? As Vala delved deeper into the darkness, she risked exposing the very evil she sought to escape. Would she find the truth, or would Mr. Mint's sinister games consume her completely?

During the mid 1850s, The British Empire, The French Empire and The Ottoman Empire went to war with the Russian Empire. It was the first modern war as it saw some of the first use of photography, railway and telegraphs in warfare. It also saw some of the first uses of trench warfare in a grim foreshadowing of the First World War. This story follows three fictional British soldiers - George Caine, Charlie Hicks and Jack Warren, in their adventures in Crimea from 1854 - 1856. Although the characters are fictional the battles they take part in were real, and their experiences are based on real ones. Some real historical people may also be featured. There may be some historical inaccuracies here and there so please feel free to report them if you see them.

This is a description of the 1850s which I had created as homework for my English lesson. It is familiar with Black Butler's concept, yet it doesn't exactly base itself off of the storyline, only the surroundings; wealth, and overall the Victorian times. I decided to post it here in hope that it may inspire others, or I can receive criticism to improve in the future, it may just be entertainment too. Thank you for reading!
