Wendell Chestna is the complete package; he's a beautiful prince with riches and has not a fault inside of him. A made-up fantasy because of his royal position, but he is only human. A high title doesn't just produce false assumptions, but it's quite difficult to determine the sincerity of people's kindness. His father's recent death after a long war leaves Wendell in a stressful predicament. Their law dictates the eldest son must claim the throne upon reaching seventeen years of age, which he will turn in the next three months. Making matters even worse, his mother sets an arranged marriage with some nobleman's daughter. This union would grant them an ally in this nation, all at the cost of her hand, but she is not the girl Wendell plans to wed. Instead, he hopes to make a sweet peasant-one who dwells in the poorest village-his lifelong companion, Kana Littleton. Queen Althelia proposes a simple deal. If the lovestruck boy can get a favorable answer before the set time limit, he is free to espouse her over Blanche. These conditions are generous enough; however, will Kana accept him for the right reasons? Is her love a pure, honest emotion from within or only swayed by his status and wealth? Under a foreign boy persona, Wendell will discover if they're truly meant to marry. But as lies start piling up to conceal his double life, whose heart is really being put to the test? Meanwhile, another war thought to have ended is slowly approaching... Madison Williams doesn't know it yet, but she is a pawn in the struggle for power waging between the ancient Families of Kildare, and for the control of magic and time itself. 'You don't know the things he took away from me, the possibilities that used to crackle in my dreams. He smothered it all to nothing but cold dead cinder. ' This Grianstad - the winter festival of the Celts - marks the 250th anniversary of the fall of the Families of Kildare, magic wielders who claim their descent from the goddess Danu of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Kept in the dark about her family's history for her entire life, Madison Williams finds herself thrust into a dangerous struggle for power waging between the Kildare descendants. Madison must decide if her loyalties lie with John Price - the enigmatic man who raised her twin sister and runs a clandestine agency of magic- or the darkly intriguing Dr. Kyran Marnelle whose family holds their own vision for the future of the remaining Families of Kildare. Bennington Dacey has been tasked by the agency with securing Madison's allegiance while a haunted Grey Connall has shunned his roots entirely, and far to the north - in the wilderness of the Mountains of Mourne - a young woman waits to avenge an unspeakable wrong.

Lexus Karpi was always running, whether to something or from something. It was why she liked exploring; she could run around her whole island and never have to take a rest. Her brother, who she loved deeply, went farther, and made a career out of sailing across the isles. She aspired to sail with him one day, but unfortunately that day would never come. The Queen came to her island, said he died for reasons unknown, and handed her a letter. The first thing she wanted to do was run, and she did for a while, but you can only get so far on an island. Oakley Henceworth felt his whole life that something about him was off. He couldn't say the things others put into words so easily, he couldn't feel the things others described so wonderfully, and he just couldn't let himself be in love. His parents hammered into his brain that he was to stay quiet, stay mindful, never question anything. Asking only lead to arguing, so instead of learning about himself, Oakley just stayed quiet, stayed mindful, and stayed... confused. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore, so he left his parents, and lived with his friend Lex. It was only when they were out of his life that he could really come to understand himself. Taum Cantalo knew he had dreams. They were big, but they were never going to happen. His grandmother was gravely sick, so he had to take care of her. His father had him cleaning the house everyday, and his girlfriend demanded his attention. It felt like the entire world was against him, and he soon found out that it really was.
