Yesha, a Filipino-British girl living in present-day London, stumbles upon an old, dusty journal while exploring her grandmother's attic. The journal tells the story of Danny Walker, a fighter pilot stationed at Pearl Harbor in the late 1930s, and his deep love for a Filipino nurse named Maria. Drawn in by the romance and history, Yesha becomes obsessed with the story, only to be mysteriously transported back in time to 1939 Pearl Harbor. Yesha finds herself in the midst of a world on the brink of war. She meets Danny and Maria, quickly becoming friends with them both. As she spends more time with Danny, she begins to fall for him, captivated by his courage, kindness, and unwavering love for Maria. However, she doesn't recognize the growing ache in her heart until she witnesses the tender moments between Danny and Maria, realizing that she has fallen deeply in love with him. Throughout the story, Yesha battles with her feelings, knowing that Danny's heart belongs to Maria. She tries to hide her emotions, supporting Danny and Maria's blossoming romance, even though it causes her pain. As tensions rise and war looms closer, Yesha grapples with the impossibility of her love and her place in this time. In the end, after a series of emotional events, Danny begins to see Yesha in a different light, realizing too late that he has also fallen in love with her. However, the realities of war and the unchangeable past force Yesha to return to her own time. The story is a poignant exploration of love, sacrifice, and the inevitability of fate, as Yesha and Danny's love story unfolds against the backdrop of one of history's most tumultuous times.

1941, Africa, The Siege of Tobruk. It was a critical chapter in the North African Campaign during World War II. Fought between the Axis forces, led by General Erwin Rommel, and the Allied forces, mainly consisting of Australian, British, and Indian troops. The siege lasted for nearly eight months, from April 10, 1941, to November 27, 1941. Tobruk, a strategic deep water port town on the coast of Libya, became a focal point due to its importance in controlling supply routes and its proximity to Egypt and the Suez Canal. What follows is a re-telling of this historical event, based on historical events and equipment but with fictional characters. At this early stage in the war we do not get as much recorded information as we do later on, evident from that fact we have such works as "El Alamein to the River Sangro" by Field Marshal, The Viscount Montgomery once he took over command of the British 8th. People may be familiar with the film of Tobruk, of which I have drawn some inspiration from, in a way this is my attempt to make a novella in the style of an old war film. Hopefully reading part as history book and part war film. I do not imagine it will have much luck with anyone outside of the ww2 community, put to those who are interested in similar things, I hope they find it enjoyable. 1941, America. The second world war is raging on and America was just attacked by the Japanese. America enters the war causing many men to be drafted. When a young married wife finds out that her husband has been drafted into the Navy, she immeadiately signs up for the Nurse Corps. Leaving the one child they have with the trusted nana, they board the USS Indianapolis hand in hand with a mission in mind. Will they survive together and continue the happy life they had after the war? Or will their happiness sink in the ocean? Till death do they part, right? Hope is the key here.
