What if Aimone, the fourth duke of Aosta, famously the former Tomislav II of Croatia did not suffer a heart attack on the 29th of January, 1948? Would've things gone differently, and his wife, Princess Irene of Greece, and his son, Prince Amadeo came to Argentina as planned? What if he and his wife had another child while discreetly residing in Argentina permanently before their return to Italy? The name Verana is the Croatian version and a reference to Aimone and Irene's great granddaughter Vera Clementina Verde Aimone Elena Maria Arrivabene Valenti Gonzaga, who looks a lot like them, mainly like Aimone. Tbh just tryna improve my writing skills and don't come criticizing me because the English royal fanfictions on William and Harry genuinely suck...like stop with the fake wives and AI pictures at least I'm writing on two people who actually were a couple in their lifetime, and had a long distanced relationship in their last years. And btw I'm really delusional at the fact that Aimone and Irene deserved better as they actually were in love deeply but the war was far too cruel.

This story is set in 1948, three years after World War II ended. It was a time where people reformed their lives: they began to hope again, live life in more fulfilling ways, but most importantly they relearned how to love. Finding love and keeping it was so much easier to do in society now that the horrors of war were over. As love flourishes in a time where people long for it, there shouldn't be any problems. But what if the one you want doesn't love you? Or what if the one that was made for you is not the one you love? If fate was so unkind and forced you to choose, who will it be?

Author: John Steinbeck Here, in this short book illumined by the deep understanding and love of humanity that have made John Steinbeck one of the most beloved writes of our day is an old Mexican folk story. It is the story of the great pearl; how it was found and lost again. It is a simple story of simple people, recounted with the warmth and sincerity and unrivalled craftsmanship which Steinbeck brings to his writing. It is deeply moving and so beautifully presented that the reader's hope for mankind is rekindled. Of this story of Kino the fisherman, his wife Coyitito and Juana their baby, Mr. Steinbeck himself writes: "As with all re-told tales that are in people's hearts, there are only good and bad things and black and white things, and no in-between things anywhere."

"I will break you and your foolish little heart into a million pieces, I will break you in every way possible. You Faye Silverstone, are mine, and mine alone." Falling for Tom Riddle was not at all what 17-year-old Faye Silverstone planned for her 7th year at Hogwarts. Yet something about him was intoxicating, the way he carried himself, the ways his eyes lit up, and the way the corners of his lips quirked up, were all things she found herself in love with. But Tom had other intentions, Tom wasn't planning to fall for someone, and he wouldn't let Faye get in the way of his plans, no matter how much he cared for her.
