Winged beings who have been bound to a people, a place, a culture and country from the moment their eyes opened to this earth, and doomed to fall with it. They feel the toils of war, and hear the words of all leadership. They exchange the secrets of their government when their rulers cannot. They whisper into the ears of the brightest what must be done. They are messengers, deliverers, saviors. Warriors. Arthur had decided he'd had enough of the other nations bickering, and unintentionally drawing themselves into more wars. So, in the late 1700s, he was granted leave. He tucked himself away in a church, feathers and all, to forget. But he could not forget the urge to fight, to be beside a king, and now, a Prime Minister. It is 1932 when Arthur allows himself to be drawn out of the shadows once more, word of an assassination in Austria causing tensions among the Nations to rise once more. Arthur stands to speak of his reasons for leaving, and vainly attempts to cast away any ideas of war. He fails. Now Arthur is thrown into a new century, with new weapons, and far many more ways to die. He must struggle to keep the human citizens closest to him safe, while also delivering aid to the other Nations who pleaded for his help at the beginning of the war. This will not be easy. And though he may be far beyond the grasp of death, there are many who are close who he cannot bear to lose. Even though a Principality cannot be easily killed, the concept of a global war is worse than death itself. WILL BE WRAPPING UP IN NEAR FUTURE. Horror filled me, my stomach twisting as repulsion grasped with its cold hand, I took in the sight before me with all rigidity one can possess. My flank suddenly smashed to the right and I crashed towards the earth, jostled out of my thoughts as the sky and grass swirled into a brown spiral and I rolled along the ground, a large black mass griping my left side. ... My breath was ragged as I lay subdued on the ground. I felt a series of shudders rack my limp body, not from fear, but exhaustion before drifting into the warm grasp of unconsciousness. I woke as the sun came up to scare away the last remnants of the night. I rose and looked around the rocky clearing I stood in; my gaze fell upon a man. "Those eyes." I whispered in my mind as everything around me was forgotten except for the beautiful brown orbs. Brown eyes. /// Crystal's pack has been coexisting with nature for over twenty generations. Never has anyone gone far outside their territory and returned. And of course, this unfortunate streak of fate is not to be broken. What could happen that is so horrible that Crystal would dare step foot or paw out of her territory? The place she has been raised in, where she caught her first prey, and learned to defend the ones she cares about? Zoey knew there were stories about the catwalk. Everyone had stories about it. Things like that - dark, old, abandoned things like that - collected stories. They collected ghosts like a child collects baseball cards. Everyone you talked to could tell you a different ghost story about the old train bridge. But the only stories Zoey knew to be true were the girls. The jumpers. But what other stories about the catwalk were true? What really happens when you walk out on the bridge at night?
