Karmią go bajkami o demokracji i Bogu, sami biorąc udział w szemranych interesach z alfonsami i duchownymi. Józek nie ufa nikomu. Ani nauczycielom, ani własnym rodzicom, ani tym bardziej - samemu sobie. Kiedy jego świat sypie się jak dach na Próżnej, Józek odkrywa, że prawdziwa „hucpa" to nie tylko słowo z ulicy Królewskiej. To sztuka przetrwania w mieście, gdzie wszystko jest grą, a najsłabsi kończą w rynsztoku. Brudna, prowokująca, okrutnie śmieszna powieść o mieście, które przypomina trochę Warszawę, trochę piekło, a trochę twoje własne podwórko.
