Every night at exactly 3:00 AM... something wakes me up. Not nightmares. Not sounds. Objects. The chair moves. The mirror watches. The dustbin rattles. And there's always a leader. A small metal safety pin... floating in the dark. It comes closer. Closer. Then it pricks my skin- and I wake up screaming. But every night, they come back. These are the things that shouldn't be alive. These are the things that wake me at night.

(3:17 A.M. Files - Book One) At exactly 3:17 a.m., the knocking begins. Three slow taps. Pause. Two fast ones. Maya lives alone in Unit 17B. She is certain of that. But every night, someone knocks from inside her bedroom closet. Security footage shows her leaving the apartment at 3:17 a.m.-only to knock on her own door? I call this my book of chaos; my sanctuary. When the turmoil inside of me resurfaces, when I've surpassed my tipping point, putting my jumbled thoughts and conflictions into words gives back the control I initially lost.
