Living in a tribe is one thing but living in a tribe that connects with big cats is another. Everyone from one of the four tribes is bonded with a big cat at the age of 15. But when Jackie's big cat bonds with her during unremarkable circumstances Jackie realises that being the tribe's cheif's daughter is another thing. When Jackie figures out that not everyone in the tribe is as loyal as her father expected it gets her and her friend Rider into even more trouble.
