Most people collect stamps, coins, or seashells-counting their treasures day after day. My collection is a little different, but the rule remains the same: the count must always be perfect.

A young boy watches through his window as a girl is abused by her father.

Mya sits on the floor, fingers mashed in ears. Her eyes are scrunched underneath her slick black curls and her brown cheeks swell with air. "Jenna? Call me back." Mya's meeping. Again. ---- A bite sized 500 word original flash fiction about living with and caring for an autistic sibling, with themes of acceptance, family and life on the spectrum running through. 500-word weekend write-in for "quality" - 8/28/2020 Ironically, not my best write-up, but this is why I'm hesitant to buy a new car, not to mention $$$$$$. SPOILER ALERT - At least no one dies!

*** Yesterday, my mother had sent me news. It was grandmother's cancer. The doctors had told us last year that she had five to six more months left, and it seemed like it had finally caught up to her after seven years. *** Death is a part of life. Liana Fraser knows this better than anyone after losing both her father and grandfather to cancer. Now, half-a world away in London, England, it seemed that she'd have to say goodbye to another loved one. But some things never leave, not even if it's death that is the black curtain between. For family is one of them and sometimes, all it takes is the reminder of home to bring back those lost.

This is a #DreamPromposal This was fun to write because if I could do my Prom all over again I would change EVERYTHING! I didn't get the tradition of a Promposal. My (now ex) boyfriend just assumed he didn't need to ask me because we were dating and it should've been obvious. Well, this is my dream Promposal. No I didn't mention a dress I'd wear because I'm not gonna waste more of my precious time scouring through JCPenny's collection for this year. This was simply for the fun of writing, and I hope you enjoy. There were also so many rules, like, I feel personally offended for not being allowed to use my creative license to write a longer piece. My original story was 680 words long. I had to trim 180 words to meet the limit, I'm more than irritated. But, it's whatever. C'est la vie. I'm done. Enjoy.
