The last living Veylockes didn't expect to find themselves trapped in rundown Oakhurst with deadly creatures killing townsfolk, but their survival now depends on the outcome of everyone. Because Birdie won't let Abolish die, no matter what she must become. And Abolish is willing to die for Birdie, after he kills everyone in their path. When who they are and who they need to be to survive are two very different people, the siblings begin to hide the things they've done to protect each other.
