"Where are they?" he demanded, his voice laced with urgency. "Where is what?" Skylar replied, a mix of feigned innocence and annoyance coloring her tone. "Don't play dumb with me. I know you stole them," the man pressed, his words sharp and unwavering. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I really need to get back to work," she said, her finger hovering over the disconnect button, ready to end the call. "Don't hang up. I know where you live," came his confident reply, sending a thrill of tension through the air. "How do you..." she started, her heart racing. "Didn't I say I know where you live?" he interrupted, a hint of a smirk in his voice. "Fine. How about we meet at Dean's Coffee tomorrow?" she relented, curiosity piqued despite herself. "Three o'clock," he agreed, the anticipation palpable even through the phone. Skylar hung up, her gaze drifting down to the bottle of pills resting on her desk. She studied them intently, a mix of fascination and trepidation washing over her. "So these are the new drugs sweeping the streets," she mused, daringly picking one up and contemplating its allure.
