aspen henderson has played exy ever since she could walk, and was always the best on her teams. the girl lived and breathed the sport, her mother being her biggest role model. aspen's mother played for the trojans in college and right after went pro and even made it to the olympics, her team taking home silver. aspen's father however has always seen the sport as a waste of time. he was constantly worried his wife or daughter would get hurt playing. when aspen was 15 her mother was killed in an accident on her way to a game, her father of course blamed the sport for her mother's death, forbidding aspen from ever touching a stick again. he even went as far as breaking apsen's arm in the middle of her junior year season. she feared she would never get signed for a college team or even possibly never play again. she played in her team's last game of the season of her senior year but was nowhere near her best, the team won but no thanks to her. she watched as her friends were approached by college coaches and handed business cards. aspen just wanted to come home, until a tall man stopped her, and next to him was a small boy with ginger hair and a bright orange hoodie with the words: palmetto state foxes.

Neil is learning Korean because of a friend, Andrew doesn't like this and decided to pick up a dangerous sport because of it.

Neil's been running for ten years. He spends every day looking over his shoulder, dreading the day when his past catches up to him. It was Wednesday and Kevin woke up and he had a headache and his body felt heavy and he immediately knew from that it would be a bad day He wanted to sleep in and not want to go to morning practice which was the first he have ever felt But since he didnt want other to worry and he doubted anyone would even care if he was sick or not he had forgotten that Andrew and Neil can easily read through him and can tell when something is wrong with people.

When Wymack goes to recruit Neil, instead of gratitude for showing interest in a kid that the rest of the world had written off as a lost cause, he gets hit with an ultimatum: "You have to take him too," He'd said "It's a two-for-one deal. He won't even argue, I promise." Judging by Coach Hernandez's shocked and mildly pissed-off look, he hadn't been expecting it either. Wymack wasn't a man who liked to be deceived. He'd just spent the last twenty minutes trying to convince a kid to join his team, and before he'd even signed the papers he was trying to cut a deal with him. Well, one thing was for sure, the kid had balls. Major balls. Wymack threw a quick glance over to Neil's soon-to-be former coach, all he got in response though, was a light shrug as his brain struggled to catch up to what was happening. "Well..." Kevin wouldn't like this, and Andrew would probably hate it even more, but the two had also said they needed Neil. 'No matter what'. Had been Kevin's words. What else was he supposed to do? "Is he any good?" He asked tiredly. Being met with silence was much more worrying than it should have been.
