LA; LAX; South Land; City of Angles; all nicknames go back to the city where celebrities live. That place, is Los Angeles. "Living in Los Angeles you'd figure that all the people there are people who want to be famous and don't go to school because they become successful from their famous careers. Yep, not for me." Emma Culp. That's the girl that is one out of only a few kids who actually go to school and learn because they don't have the talents or courage to be famous. Or in Emma's case, just doesn't want to be famous. Being a 17 year old girl, living in the most populated celebrity city ever, and being mistaken for a model a lot is tough for Emma; it's even worse when Emma absolutely hates famous people. Sure, she likes music, movies, and some models but she's never want to meet them or be friends with them, or even know her because she hates how people fawn over someone they don't even know. So, she goes to school while her mother, who literally looks like a movie star and model, works her ass off because Emma's father is famous and left them to continue it. That's why she hates famous people. But, why would Emma hate the snarky, laid back, greek god, girl magnet that is forced to go to school because his parents want him to get an education? The infamous Andrew O'Connor. Girls want to be with him, guys want to be him, and younger/older people inspired by him. He thought he was in great condition and his great voice made him confident. Until his mother wanted him to gain education and feel the high school experience. He goes to school and as usual, everyone is drawn to him except someone he doesn't understand. "The girl has friends who love me and my voice but she seems to walk the other way when I enter." Story between Emma and Andrew, two separate worlds in the same city.

we don't always need someone when we've got ourselves. right? - a girl, who's unsure about almost everything in her life, is just entering high school. there's tons of problems she dosen't want to deal with, and dosen't want to face. no, this isn't a cliche book about a shy girl meeting a gorgeous jock, or about a popular, bitchy girl getting what she deserves, or about anything like that. - for the people who are unsocial, and not in the quirky relatable way. for the people who don't like the 'normal' way, and want to accept their differences. for the people who roll their eyes at cliches and "awws" because they sometimes just want to be on their own. - that's what this is.
