His wife passed from cancer 10 years ago, and in his grief and struggle to move on he had many one night stands, resulting in the birth of the twins. A birth he was not aware of. A global cure for anxiety accidentally erases all human emotions. Society becomes eerily calm, functional, and obedient-except for a few teens whose bodies rejected the drug and still feel. Now the government hunts them down, believing emotions are a "mental disease." But the teens begin rediscovering "forbidden feelings" like love, grief, anger, and must decide whether to reintroduce emotions to the world or destroy the cure. Instead of suppressing free thought, this world suppresses emotion itself.
