Foreword*
When I first opened the first page of Gregory Nicoll's novella "From The Deep and Beyond", it was like a curse for me. I couldn't get this entity, Raandaii-B'nk, out of my head. I have countless ideas, but I find it difficult here and there to shape them appropriately in a Lovecraftian way. I want to convey certain things to the people who read my story. Among other things, that the truth is never complete. The reader will realise that no matter how hard they try to picture Raandaii-B'nk, there is so much more to it than that. It's not always easy to craft the whole thing in such a way that the horror of the unknown remains.
This version of "The Origin" took a little over a year to write. It sheds light on the original story of "The Origin" from a different angle. A much darker one. I never intended to portray Raandaii-B'nk as something positive. Nevertheless, my original goal was to build a kind of sympathy. If I destroy that with this story, I sincerely apologise. Or do I?
The Randezi are liars, Gregory Nicoll taught us. They lie to manipulate. Just like we humans do. Whether consciously or unconsciously. And we all have goals. My goal is, whether before or after my body has turned to ashes, that people do not forget what lurks in the depths of the Bermuda Triangle. The victims who gave their lives for the truth must never be forgotten.
Enjoy "Origins The Truth."
