The thing I crave the most sends most people crying to their mothers in hopes of finding relief. It even forces the toughest of men to their knees, yet I welcome it with open arms. 32 days. 32 days since I've seen my mother with her slightly graying hair and lively eyes. 32 days since she’s been alive. Because even though she had happy written all over her face, no one seemed to notice what was underneath. It’s been 32 days since my mother hung herself in her closet. In those 32 days I've cried my eyes out more than enough times, I've lost 13 pounds, and I've moved across the country to live in Napa Valley with my father. After day 16 I forced myself to stop crying because I was being selfish, I realized that it was okay to miss her but all I was really missing was what she did for me and how I would never get that back. But that’s how humans are after people die all we want back is what they gave to us; love, strength, hope. My mother gave me all of those things. I sometimes blamed the accident on myself because maybe I wasn't providing what she needed. Maybe I wasn't giving her enough love, strength, or hope. After Paisley's life takes a wicked turn, she seems to find a light at the end of this tunnel. This light seems to have to do with a certain player named Jasper who may just be suffering the same fate she is. After a trip unknowingly planned at the same time, they realize they had a lot more in common then originally thought. And maybe, just maybe, they may be just what each the other was searching for.

This novel is based on Herman Work's historical war saga, "War and Remembrance" which became a successful TV mini series from ABC Network. As a fact, this is my own rendition of the supposed continuance of the lives of the Jastrows and the Henrys in the aftermath of World War 11. In retrospect, "Winds of War" ends with a reverberating note on Pearl Harbor in December of 1941. Whereas, "War and Remembrance" echoes the atom bomb propaganda in August of 1945. What happens next to the intertwining lives of the characters of the original novels will be recorded here and will be breathed into with fresh intakes.
