After Zuko burned down a village on Kyoshi Island for his mission to capture the avatar and of course to restore his honour, it left a deep scar on the kyoshi warriors, this was the trigger that finally enraged them to really do something about the fire nation, they craved to see fire nation empathise with their pain.
