Caleb is finally returning to see Alanna (Princess Aida) after a year of traveling. When returning he delivers disturbing news about the Zephyr's Ring failing and how Aida needs to come and aid. While sailing towards a new place, they discover that Pyra has been captured! Nothing is what it seems as Souls and his crew try and stop the strange occurrences from happening to Sedna and the other royalties.

So my best friend is doing a 30 day writing challenge with one of our groups where she gives us five pictures to write off of, and I've decided to try and make every one of them a Tamora Pierce fanfic. Another of my friends suggested I post them, so...that's what I'm doing. I'm not going to use established characters in all of them, so at the end I'm going to try to have a list of which ones are and are not mine. If there are any clear spoilers that I need to give a warning for, I will. Most of the credit for this goes to Tammy though! Note: I'm posting this three days in, so I'm not sure if I'll get to do any Circle ones. I hope so, but I chose the Tortallan crest for the cover because I like it. Also, this is my first fanfic, so any constructive criticism is welcome 😅

An original short story by...well...me! Ian's life is nothing spectacular. He's spent the majority of it as a simple stable boy, and the only thing that keeps him from dying of boredom is his best friend, Zaire. They're like brothers; inseparable. Zaire is the troublemaker who never seems to get caught, and Ian is...well, Ian is Ian. He's just along for the ride. Then one day the ride gets unexpectedly bumpy when the Governor's son shows up in Ian and Zaire's stable: and there's only one reason for Levi Caldwell to be sneaking through the stables. Desertion. What will happen when Levi runs off with one of his father's horses? Or when one of the boys is found holding a bloody knife over the body of his master? I'm aware this is a horrible blurb, but how do you write a good blurb for a short story without giving too much away? Anyway, read the story! It's a good one! I promise! And it's super short...like 4,550 ish words. It won't take up too much of your time!

I wrote this in 5th grade, and didn't change it at all for the story. Inspired by Alanna, and the Beka Cooper books by Tamora Pierce
