Haley is dealing with problems back home as best as she can, but when it becomes too much, Haley’s aunt offers her a room at her beach house for the summer. Haley expects a summer of just laying on the beach and helping her aunt at her beach side restaurant, but when she meets her goofy neighbor, and a cute surfer, life seems good until tragedy strikes, changing her summer, and possibly her entire future.

"Song of the Phoenix" is a short story about a tortured teenaged boy living in a small town where he is bullied, marginalised, despised. It seems there's nothing and no-one for Michael - would anyone really miss him if he left forever? Before he goes Michael plans to show them all but things don't turn out as expected. Michael transforms into something other worldly, something vengeful, powerful and driven - can he remain in control? Will the undeserving be destroyed along with the bullies and how will Elissa feel as she is drawn into Michael's fiery anger.
