I wrote this story for an assignment in my sociology class. This story addresses the sensitive subject of discrimination and prejudice. I apologize in advance if I offend anyone and I do really hope I don't offend anyone with this story. I wrote this story to inspire people to look beyond the color of someone's skin. This story is about two boys, Miguel and Garrett, who meet in school as young children. As they grow up, their differences get in the way of what could have been a strong and enduring friendship.

This poem consists of my thoughts and views on the world and how manipulated our minds are to believe the things that are presented before us.

The funny thing about fire is that it can be both destructive and cleansing, in the wake of the ashes is fertile soil. So I have set aflame underneath me and let the passion burn, in the end, I hope to find peace and build bigger and greater things.

the writer uses aliens invading from their home planet as a metaphor to highlight the systemic problem of racism. In that aliens are living among the humans in the fictional universe this story takes place.

In a world where people live, just like you and I are force to do what A king wants. Their people will rise with determination and love to conquer what was their's to begin with. Who are these people who rose to the top? How did they bring A wicked King falling to his knees? Let's find out!

This poem was inspired and composed while I was in Washington DC at the National Mall site seeing and reading then suddenly I was inspired to write a letter to the nation on how I feel as a black man in America and a gave my opinion on why lower class citizens especially African American/ Hispanic feel the way they do about our government. I am not a poet or politician I'm just expressing my feels, views, and observations through the pin.
