The story timeline is set towards the end of the 5 year leap, when Anu and Anuj return to India for Dimple's wedding. Taking off after Anuj calls Anu offering to help her de-stress in Ep 1322 - when Ishani was hospitalized after Hasmukh gave her the wrong medication. Thereafter it shift to an alternate reality but all the characters still exist in this universe acting pretty close to their show personalities. I am finally going to try posting what was typed out in my phone notes over the past 2 years or so since Anuj Kapadia came into our lives. Note: I loved the OG Anuj but have my issues and reservations with how Anuj turned out later and now I struggle to relate to him on many days though sometimes I understand him. Background about this rant - I was creating a character sketch of a feminist man for a writing assignment (i am passionate about writing/storytelling so was learning the craft) and came across Anuj just around the same time. It was so surprising that things I had written about my character sketch man much before I knew of the show matched with how Anuj played out on screen and I was thrilled that after ages there is a male character on ITV that aligned with my ideals. Then it became a game. I sometimes picked up from Anuj Kapadia on screen for my writeup & other times found that he almost behaved like I had already written. It warmed my heart and I enjoyed this writing game. I cheered the character with all his flaws because there was a certain earnestness. In the last year or so while I connected to Anupamaa's journey (not that she does not frustrate me), my resonance with Anuj reduced. The show destroyed his core essence & what he stood for in my view. Its not his emotional breakdowns or vulnerability. I love his raw emotions, but he did loose what he once stood for in my heart and mind. Nevertheless, I continued writing this rant to authentically express my feelings. I am now ready to share a piece of my heart here. Note: This is a rant and not a story. The work is kind of a mix between my ideal man and how Anuj played into it and then it just became a means to articulate my feelings about both. The beginning of this narrative starts on the wedding night of Anuj and Anupama. I really wanted to see MaAn having a good conversation about physical intimacy. I was looking forward to seeing Anupama gradually lose her inhibitions and welcome Anuj in all of his forms. For a woman who has not had a physical relationship with a man for the past 17 years, accepting a physical relationship with another man is not an easy process and takes time. I would like to make an attempt to explore and address these things in this story. Furthermore, all I wanted was a slow-burning romance between MaAn, but it appears that the makers think it is taboo to portray a 40+ year old couple romancing on ITV. However, I think they will be unable to stop my imagination. The focus of this narrative will be Anupama and Anuj Kapadia's unwavering love. The story will explore Anupama's emotional and professional development with the help of her husband. In addition, I might keep the original tracks in the story as needed to explore the dynamics of the family. Furthermore, I might write the adoption track in my own way in this story. Despite Anupama's health issues, I also may consider exploring MaAn having a second child but I am not sure at this point. These tracks, if I ever write them, will presumably come near the end of this story. Due to the requirements of the story line, some chapters may contain mature content. All the characters, their names, character traits, and professions are the same as in the original story line.
