Heather sometimes thought she was a bit of an odd ball, and in some ways, she was. She never knew where she was running away to, let alone why. Taking out the small bottle of water she had, she took a sip, not so much to quench her thirst as it was to stave off the gnawing hunger in her stomach. Her bottom lip found its way beneath her teeth as she strained to piece it all together. What did she remember? The last thing she could truly be sure of was the moment she read that paper. Actually, it was before that...that time she woke up to see a broken mirror, or when she found a sentence written in red, on her upper left thigh...Every sign she'd seen, every warning she'd ignored... they all pointed to the same thing: run.
