Alla fine del ciclo di novelle raccontate da Shahrazad, il sultano impara la morale di ciascuna di esse, rendendosi conto di essere stato un vero e proprio assassino nei confronti delle donne soltanto per il tradimento della prima moglie. Così Shahriyar decide di sposare la sua cortigiana, e di regalare al regno pace e prosperità.
