As Filipinos, we uphold the idea and belief of being family-oriented and sharing. We are a collectivist culture. Manifestation of it is shown in one way through balikbayan boxes. Yet, with a culture transcending generations, have we taken the time to value the essence of what giving is, or have we boxed ourselves in our own individualistic notions?

Out of debt of gratitude, Carlene Alvarez's family inherits their ancestral manor from her paternal uncle. Part of that inheritance is an unexpected cleanup where they have to take down the Narra tree that had been there since the house's construction. Not too long, she begins having a dream of a tall man with dark skin, glowing yellow eyes, and a menacing smile. The worse part? The man appears in her parents' dreams, too. The worst part? The man in their dreams become all too real not long after . . .
