The ending of Banana Fish was really sad so I thought of making up a not so heart breaking ending. Or beginning..? *** I was strong and cold. I was a beast who was brutal. I was a man who didn't fear anything, even death. But there's at least one weakness and fear of someone brave and dangerous. My weakness? Eiji. The fear of losing him, not seeing him, and to not be able to protect him. Protect him from my dangerous and beastly nature. The thought of not seeing him worries me, but it also makes me relieved. He's a nice and good man. Who would want to ruin his innocence? I didn't want him to see me putting bullets in someone's head. He has seen the beast in me. But still chose to stay along side me. I felt lucky. If only I could have a life like his. We wouldn't be so heartbroken. *** "My soul is always with you" tears dropped and quiet sobs were heard. It seems that death is the only way I can keep you safe. Forget me. Everything we've been through. Or our memories will just hurt you.

Shortly after passing out in the library, Ash is rushed to the hospital. Upon hearing the news from Bones - Eiji flies back to NY to see Ash - short one shot -

But now, there's nowhere to hide, since you've pushed my love aside. I'm outta my head. Hopelessly devoted to you. Eiji misses Ash and the time they spent together. He writes a letter, of which the response is unexpected.

Eiji wasn't able to dream since Ash's death, his sleep was empty or filled with nightmares that haunted him over the years. He moved to New York but he didn't moved on from Ash, he didn't know if that was denial or hope, but deep down he strongly believed Ash was alive, somewhere, far away, but alive, and one day they could meet again. That hope tasted like a poison with such a sweet flavour that he was almost drunk from it, it destroyed his life, but also kept him alive. And then, when Eiji is ready to give up on that hope, he starts to dream again.

Heartbroken after Ash's death, Eiji Okumura has been finding life difficult, and is just about ready to give up when something happens that gives him a feeling he hasn't felt in a while--hope. One day, he hears of a young scientist, Pepper Aldine, who claims to have found a way to reverse death. Eiji, with the help of others who were close to Ash, manages to track the teenager down. After much persuasion, they eventually are able to convince Pepper to make the death cure. After years of hard work, she finally does it: she brings Ash back to life. All seems well until the newly formed trio discovers that there are malevolent people out there who have found out about Pepper's invention--and they want it for themselves.

Traumatized eiji has lost the will to keep going on in life. he is left all alone. what surprises is life preparing for him?

"Ah, your first time?" the blond asks, pushing up his glasses with his index finger. "Yes" Eiji says, looking at him with a small smile. "Any recommendations?" "Recommendations, huh?" he repeats, grinning. "Well, I think for a first timer, you should try the Americano." Eiji nods, smiling. Did you know that heartbreak isn't just a metaphor? People call it "broken heart syndrome," and it's real. Losing someone you loved so deeply is draining, so deeply, and emotionally draining. It's a rare case, but overwhelming loss has been known to effect physical health; including the heart. Thankfully, doctors can treat most cases, or at least help stop the never ending endurement of pain. Thats what was happening to Eiji. Eiji and Reki are childhood friends. After his pole vaulting accident, Eiji suffers from depression but tries to find his way back to school with Reki's help. Things begin to het more interested when they get two new students called Ash Lynx whose body language tells everyone to stay away and Langa Hasegawa, a student who rarely talks and has a cold and expressionless face. Maybe a new dawn will break for all of them?
