Elle Marie has always seen the world differently - in shades, tones, and music notes no one else could quite understand. Diagnosed with autism at a young age, she found comfort in singing and drawing, pouring her heart into every colored pencil stroke and melody. Supported by her loving parents, Elle dreams of sharing her art with the world. But when the people she admires most - her eldest cousin and his musician girlfriend - ridicule her drawings and voice, her colorful world begins to fade to gray. Can Elle find the courage to paint her dreams again? Or will the cruel words of those she trusted silence her forever?

This is a story/poem about a day I had back in 3rd grade in 1998. I am autistic, and had been diagnosed at this time but I had not been told and was not receiving any aid or care at all. This is to show awareness to both the struggles of those with autism and that not telling the child that they have autism can be just as bad if not worse than telling them why they have the differences they have.

Hey guys, this is a story mainly about raising awareness for people who are autistic and how they are not always treated fairly. Disclaimer: I do not own PJO, HoO or anything you may recognise. We are also pretending Trials of Apollo never happened and Calypso isn't there. (Sorry to Caleo shippers.) Leo Valdez has a secret. He has autism. He's worked so hard over the years not to show signs that he doesn't. That is until there are two new campers. Lilly and Margret. They are twins from the Aphrodite cabin and they start to recognize the subtle signs Leo shows. They then start to bully him for it. Will Leo finally tell his friends about his autism? Or will he let the bullying continue? Cover art done by Canva.

Autism is not just one condition, but a name given to a whole bunch of mental conditions that affect the way that a person thinks and interprets the world around them, and it's more common than many people think. According to the National Autistic Society, approximately 700,000 people in the UK are affected by it. That's more than 1 in 100, and if you take into account their families, that's almost 3,000,000 people in the UK living with someone who has autism. I grew up with other autistic students in my school, and this book goes over what it was like growing up in that environment. This book isn't finished for now; I'll add more as I go.

This is the prologue of a book I'm thinking about writing regarding a nonverbal Autistic boy finding his voice through falling in love with the girl he met at a park. He has a close relationship with animals, and helps said girl through her anxiety and insecurities leading her to try and be popular at school by using his animal friends to help her. This prologue does not contain these future details, just character details involving Halden (the boy) and his mother.

They say the world is the same for everyone. But for them... it never was. Living in a world that feels too loud, too bright, too overwhelming, they've both learned to survive in silence-misunderstood, judged, and forced to fit into something they were never meant to be. Back to back, yet closer than anyone realises, their lives begin to intertwine in ways neither of them expected. Because sometimes... the people who see the world differently are the only ones who truly understand each other. And maybe-just maybe-being different was never the problem. Different, Not Less ~ A story of seeing the world differently. A powerful and heartfelt story about individuals with autism, navigating a world that wasn't built with them in mind-yet still longing to be seen, understood, and accepted for who they truly are. In a world that feels too loud, too fast, and too overwhelming, they are constantly misunderstood. This is a story about living with autism-about the quiet battles, the unseen struggles, and the deep, unspoken desire to be understood in a place that was never designed for minds like theirs.
