Chapter lengths may vary from very short to very long, I don't plan on giving myself a minimum or maximum word count for this. Even if one goes on for very long and probably should be broken up into several parts, I'll refrain from doing so, to keep it as a literal one-shot. So this should be fun. If you just stumbled upon this by chance, here's a quick intro so you know who you're dealing with: I'm a 27-year-old Sicilian girl with a big love for music, TV shows, and anime. This is a fanfiction based on the tv show Good Omens. If you know it, you instantly have my respect. (And if you want more Good Omens or tv shows/anime content, you can follow me on TikTok: The_ineffable_girl *angel-wing emoji*.) If you don't know the show, I seriously recommend watching it. In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful tv show ever made! (Also, you wouldn't understand this fanfiction at all, so... yeah, go watch it first haha.) In any case, just know that this fanfic isn't very long (barely ten chapters) and there are no spicy/hot or NSFW scenes (maybe a bit of romance here and there). I chose to focus more on the idea of family, so if you're a minor or reading in public, don't worry, it's totally family-friendly! I'm sorry if there are any grammar or syntax mistakes. Aziraphale lover many things in life, books, good wine, Crowley, wearing sensible shoes, people, but Aziraphale also loves food, and he just happens to have a poorly timed craving for crepes. Caught during the French revolution dressed in smart English clothing wasn't helping his cause. he ends up in the Bastille waiting for the executioner when his demon saves him

-PLOT- Ever since Aziraphale returned to Heaven, Crowley has been living in Soho with a broken heart, barely managing to share the bookshop with the naive and enthusiastic Muriel. However, this fragile routine is disrupted by the arrival of Esther, a girl who has been trapped in an orphanage since she was just a few weeks old. Born on May 8, 1945, Esther has spent decades without aging a single day. The girl seems to bridge two opposing worlds: she has the flaming red hair and sharp wit of Crowley, but also the clear blue eyes and love for books of Aziraphale. When Maggie and Nina find her exhausted on the street, they decide to take her straight to the bookshop. While Muriel is overjoyed to host her, Crowley does everything in his power to keep her at a distance. Yet, this forced cohabitation changes everything. Watching a girl who resembles him so closely-and who carries the very gaze of the angel-the demon is overwhelmed by an intense protective instinct and a nostalgia he cannot name. The mind may forget, but the heart always keeps an invisible memory of its own. So, the demon found only one way to drown away all his sorrows - which finally had ended up in excessive amounts of alcohol." Aziraphale goes missing. Captured by none other than - guess who - Archangel Gabriel himself, Heaven wants to take their final revenge on Crowleys angel friend. As the demon arrives at the bookshop only to find it scattered in ruins, it's up to him rescuing his angel. Whatever it takes. Or Crowley will lose more than just the love of his eternal life...

This short story (mostly) takes place in Aziraphale's bookshop after he and Crowley's lunch at the Ritz in the finale. The two supernatural entities finally get some things off their chests and try to move on after the apocalypse that wasn't. (This is my own personal headcanon of what goes down after the events of the show. If something seems like it wouldn't really fit in with the canon, don't worry about it, it's just fanfiction.)
