The storm didn't pass. They just learned to walk through it together.
Izuku Midoriya has spent his entire life chasing after Katsuki Bakugou-through playgrounds and battlefields, through cruelty and silence, through every "die, Deku" hurled like a grenade between them. He never expected Katsuki to finally stop running. Not like this.
Not on a rain-soaked night outside the U.A. gymnasium, with bruised ribs and trembling hands and a confession that sounds more like a war cry than a love letter.
"I'm gonna mess this up," Katsuki admits, crimson eyes burning with something that isn't anger for the first time in years.
"Probably," Izuku agrees, smiling through the downpour.
Some bridges aren't burned. Some are rebuilt, brick by brick, insult by insult, touch by terrified touch. But Katsuki has never been good at gentle, and Izuku has never been good at giving up-and maybe that's exactly why this disaster might just work.
A story about second chances, sharp edges, and learning that the person who knows how to break you might also be the only one who knows how to put you back together.
