"Carter! Put the gun down!" she screamed. The tears were streaming down my face as I pressed the steel 9 millimeter to my right temple. I'm trapped in a life of evil. Death is the only escape. Where I'm from, if you 'Blood In,' you can only 'Blood Out.' "Carter please don't do this. I love you," she said through heartbreaking tears. "We'll get through this together. I promise I'll never leave you." Her speech forced so much emotion from my inner gut. How could a woman so beautiful end up with a savage thug like me? I ain't good at nothing but running these streets. I love her with everything I have. I could still hear the ambulance sirens outside my window. No doubt they were still scraping his bloody body off of the ground. The thought alone caused more tears to fill my eyes. How can he be gone like this? "Give me the gun," she said. I didn't oblige. The gun stayed pressed on my temple. "Carter, give me the gun!" Before she could say another word, I closed my eyes tightly, feeling the warm tears run down my face. My fingers began touching the trigger as I prepared to shoot. I took a deep breath before... CLICK! the gun sounds. "Carter! No!" she screams. I'll always love her -- my Blood Diamond. Carter Jackson is fighting to protect & provide for his family as he struggles to survive in the ruthless ghettos of Los Angeles. As a member of the notorious street gang, The Bloods, every day he lives is a challenge to survive. When he finally finds love in his hometown best friend, Amanda Nicole, she vows to ride for him through these streets of violence. But when their first child is born, the struggle climaxes and all hell breaks loose. This coming-of-age story is between two teens who live dangerously in love while struggling through murder, drugs, lust, and poverty. Will Carter survive these streets? How much is a Blood Diamond truly worth? The real answer is buried in this dramatic love story. || Starring: Lucas Coly x Jacy Jordan.

First, arriving in chains and shackles Mind racing; prepared for battle, in a land not my own. Stripped from my home, Humiliated, whipped, raped and frightened to the bone... In this hell; I felt alone. Then, they say 'you're free' Was I supposed to be happy? That I was working for Zero fees, tilling, nurturing, and pleading on my hands and my knees Unable to read... please! Finally, I began to fight. Fought for liberation and rights Fought not to see my brother's body dangling from Great Oaks at night Struggling to survive, vote, learn ...and, We shall overcome... someday? They didn't want me to know. When I figured it out, they implemented COINTELPRO ...and, burned down my community. But my immunity to downfall at the hand of oppression Left me standing in solidarity with those just like me. Now, the day has arrived. And, I must believe my eyes because Black Lives... They Matter If I walk up to the White House door and knocked, A brown face would answer. In a sea of faces pride spreads, Similar to the effects of cancer, but not as negative For the most part, they're letting me live What once had to be taken, some now give ...respect, admiration and the ability to have dignity. Yes, even though, some still feel the need to depict me as a monkey. We finally - THANK GOD - We FINALLY Got... us... FREE!!

Every morning that I enter my office, I am afraid. Every time my boss calls me into his cabin, panic rises in my stomach like bile. Every promotion, every pay-check brings along with it a new fear. Even coffee spilled on my shirt, even a missing pen. If there is a hell of Earth? It is contained within the four walls of Mr. Santana's cabin. ( entry for Amazon Prime's #Panic Writing Contest )

Madagascar is lost. To school: she's an overweight, dead quiet, lonely, unpopular, bald and unattractive black weirdo with friends who are as strange as she is. To home: she's a colour of creativity, celestially kind and shines with class. To herself: she's so much more then she seems, if only her voice was strong enough to tell the world. To tell herself. To Love: Madagascar's life is going to change but it must start with her.

"Isabella-Rose wait! Rosie! Wait, please stop!" but I didn't listen I just kept going, the humiliation was just giving me enough motivation to get far away from him as fast as I can. But then then he eventually caught up and stepped in front of me and he held my big shoulders. But I refused to look at him in the eye so my eyes were glued to the ground. "Look at me." he said with such a demanding tone that I just gave in and looked up. "I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings, I told you that I love you and that I care about you, but just not the way you want me to. You're my best friend's niece Isabella-Rose. You're like my little sister. I deeply care about you, and I like our conversations, I don't want us to stop talking to each other. But I'm just way too old for you, I'm 24 you're 17 that's a 7 year age gap. That's way too old." as he said all this I couldn't stop thinking of how foolish I've been.
