I have a lot of thoughts, both philosophical and trivial on why I write this and the culture surrounding it and I wanted to get it down on "paper" somewhere. I'm hoping this will also be a place of dialogue in within the community of black female writers and readers who are also within that categorical space.

I turned to see a group of three boys coming into the restaurant, but one in particular stood out to me.
