Max Verstappen is the lead developer for a massive, brutalist urban redevelopment firm in Amsterdam. He's all about efficiency, raw materials, and "form follows function." If a building doesn't serve a logical purpose, he doesn't want it. He's known for being impossible to work with and finishing projects ahead of schedule by sheer force of will.
Charles Leclerc is a celebrated sustainable architect from Monaco, famous for "The Green Spine"-buildings that look like living sculptures, full of light, curves, and vertical gardens. He believes architecture should make people feel something; Max thinks architecture should just keep the rain off your head.
A prestigious, multi-billion dollar project to redesign the Monaco Waterfront is announced. It's the "Contract of the Century." The committee, unable to choose between Max's hyper-efficient master plan and Charles's poetic vision, makes a sadistic decision: They have to co-design the project.
If they can't present a unified blueprint in six months, they both lose the contract to a third party.
