Loneliness brings these two together, and a brand new kind of relationship develops between the former enemies. However, Damon's love for Elena is still standing in the way of his happiness with Bonnie. Set post 6x21. Bonnie sacrifices herself again in order to save Damon but what happens after may change the trajectory of their relationship. What was but mutual bantering lies unresolved feelings that neither want to admit. Meanwhile, Elena is human again, but that comes with it's complications as old feelings for Stefan resurface.

For all the Bamon, Damon & Bonnie shippers of the Vampire Diaries television series who were disappointed for not receiving the couple storyline we that should have been endgame and that fans deserved I give you an alternate twist to the season 6 finale with a very different spin not like the books of course but definitely in the similar dark tone

Damon visits Bonnie in the middle of the night after their untimely Christmas celebration to give her a present. Set after 'Elena's Christmas'.

Seeking solace and control over her growing power, Bonnie retreats to a secluded cottage left to her Grams. But she's not alone. With danger lurking in the shadows, Stefan and Damon refuse to leave her unprotected. As they settle into an unexpected rhythm, the lines between friendship and something more begin to blur. Picture this... Tony Starks, Damon, Klaus and Loki in the same room. Well, this is gonna be fun. During Damon's New York getaway to find the cure to vampirism, he encountered a quiet unexpected turn of events. Leading him straight to the lion's den. Of course Stefan was gonna protect his brother at all costs but it seemed quite complicated when people in "funky costumes" got in the way. And so, the vampires went from wanting to save Mystic falls... to saving the world in the blink of an eye. I wonder how everything will turn out, moreover I wonder the bonds that will be made and the ones that will break because there's no doubt that love is a complicated thing.
