If You're Reading This, It's Too Late to Turn the Light Back On is a collection of creepypastas about the dark not as emptiness, but as a presence that watches, learns, and waits. These stories aren't about monsters that jump out at you. They're about what stands just outside your vision. About rooms that change when the lights go out. About the feeling that something in the dark understands the rules better than you do and has already read ahead. In these pages, the dark is observant. It mimics voices. It rearranges familiar spaces. It leaves gaps where safety used to be. Some stories unfold like memories you're not sure are yours. Others feel like childhood nightmares you never grew out of.

Author note: This is a short fantasy story. It was originally an idea that I wanted to submit to an online magazine but I decided to post it here. Allison is a wallflower, a loner; she keeps to herself, occasionally talking to her cousin Dani. She wasn't always like this; she was outgoing and talkative but after the death of her mom, she secluded herself from the world. Her only safe is outdoors surrounded by nature but since the woods are considered dangerous in her cousin's hometown, she settles for the school's garden. Until one day she finds herself in the middle of the forest. Afraid and alone she questions how she got there. But she's not alone. Ardelean, the name of his home, his responsibility; left to rule the forest at a young age Soren is desperate for a solution. The forest is dying; no-one knows why or how to stop it. No-one except the forest itself. When Soren sees Allison in the middle of the forest, he is discouraged wondering how a weak girl could save his home. He needs to trust the forest; the forest knows best. Now it's up to him to ask Allison to help him. Will she help him or just leave?

"Hello my name is Maria and I live on the edge of the end zone," I let the words fall out of my mouth. "Hello Maria," the crowd chimed in. "I have lived on the edge of the end zone for as long as I can remember, but while living there many have disappeared," i began to speak softly. "But anyways.." I continued. "I am here today because I have AGP paranoia schizophrenia," I scanned the crowd as people began to point and whisper because most of them were "JUST" alcoholics. I began to slowly step off from the podium when a women raised her hand slowly and almost with grace with the silence that only a mouse would dare present. "What does AGP stand for," she mumbled while looking up at me with eyes as black as coal. As I pondered wether or not to answer her question I glanced at her name tag which read, "hello, my name is: Cassandra. I tilted my head in confusion no one dare use a name so unique in this year. Right as I began to open my mouth to answer her question guards rushed in from all angles taking her by the arms and noting, "you are being taken to the end zone... Because you are different." As they pulled her out the exit from the light flickered dark room I mumbled, "anti-government phobia"
