A reflective writing based on my personal experience of being torn between my Catholic faith and my identity as a lesbian. Just wanted to vent my frustrations of being caught in this struggle to whoever reads this :)

Women have been gifted with this quality which makes them different from men. Yes, we ARE different. Men and Women cannot be the same or equal. I don't think they need to be. We just need to acknowledge each other's qualities and respect the differences. And THAT would make us LESS different than what we are now.

Have you ever feel like you are in a place where you don't know what you should do or be?

I was perfectly okay with my life. You know, being the submissive, hushed, bystander of the world around me. I mean I have my camera, my journal, my secret passion for singing, and my best friend Ethan. Whom by the way is the yin to my yang; the day to my night. What else could there be for me? Well... it turns out there is love, rules waiting to be broken, dares yet to be fulfilled, and a whole other side of myself I didn't know existed. I can't even begin to fathom how I could've been in such a confining nutshell I called my life. This... this all started when 'new guy' said a soliloquy and I had a revelation of the fact that I am who I am. And if my arrogant highschool peers can't understand that then they are irrelevant fuckfaces who need to shut their big mouths. Because I LIKE who I am, and I love everyone in my life. And in the end when all these moments are just memories, that's all that's going to count. (Chris and Ethan Fan fiction)
