Every year, the tributes fight in the Hunger Games arenas. Every year, the citizens of Panem and the Capital watch. And every year, the mentors have to watch from the mentors room, famed Victors themselves, and almost entirely unable to bring home another Victor. Nobody's ever said that a Victor's life got easier after the games ended.

Description: Fifteen-year-old Avalynn Perthshire is a distant relative of a first ever victor of District 3: Honorius Perthshire. And it never really caused trouble for her, even more it helped her a bunch of times. This lasted till the 125th Hunger Games, when "the smartest girl in town" was doomed to fall. Author's Note: This story takes place in the alternative universe where all events with Katniss and Peeta, therefore the second revolution never existed. Vera was fair-skinned, though the sun had touched her enough to warm her tone; her long brown hair fell in soft, straight layers, and her hazel eyes seemed to catch the light just so. She was quiet, almost reserved, but those who knew her well understood that she listened to everything, and remembered even more. The Games were something distant in her mind for most of her life, a terrible spectacle that happened far away. Until the year her name was pulled, and she stepped forward with a calm she didn't truly feel, her mind already scanning for patterns, for angles, for a way to come home. That year, the 69th Annual Hunger Games would bear her name. Not as a footnote, not as a fleeting tribute, but as the Victor. She was only fifteen, younger than most who survived to the end. But with each knife she loosed, each choice she made with unwavering precision, Vera Calder proved herself not as a girl defined by her District, but as a force who had mastered the one thing District Five had given her in abundance: control.

Against all odds, not only is she the granddaughter of Beetee Latier, but her parents both died in the games. After the rebellion, President Paylor decides to have games till the last quarter quell. 100. I do not own Beetee Latier, Caeser Flickerman or President Paylor. These are characters created by the wonderful Suzanne Collins. However, most of the other characters are created by myself. Please be mindful that if you've only read the book, or watched the movie, it's a mix of both so it's not exactly like one of them. Also, some parts are from Matpat's film theory about how to survive the Hunger games. He deserves all credit for that and watch it, it's pretty good.
