I am a historian. I love history and discovering new people and event. History is important and a lot of the times certain history is left out in our school's curriculum because people don't want to admit these things happen. Living in a society where the history we learn are usually white men with only a handful of black people and woman. I am a White woman, trying my best to be an activist and wanting to bring these stories we don't know about to light.

You had moved around a lot as a kid, making it unable to do certain things. You grew up in the hood growing up, making you pretty tough, but you loved to dance. Break dance, traditional, asian, indian, african...it didn't matter Anyway, years later, you move to Metropolis and get roped up in some crazy adventures with the gang...and love interests. and you have powers?!

Melanie Rhodes is a 16 year old sophomore of high school who lost her mom. We learn that her mom's "accident" might not have been an accident. Her single dad is trying to provide the perfect life for her and her brother. But it's not the same. Melanie goes through high school with such hopes and not enough experience. But with the help of her friends and boyfriend? She will get over the fear of losing someone she loves.

During Black History Month, i bring attention to everyday struggles of African Americans living in America. The discrimination. The hatred. The pity. Hear it all in "Minority<" as you read about a teenage African American who grows up in a school that is predominantly white. The questions asked on a daily basis. The looks while walking down the hall. The bus. The bus where she is weak and targeted. That very school bus that makes her feel useless. Read it all in Minority<.
