"The lines we draw to protect ourselves often become the walls that imprison us." [OUR WORLD] 🌸A Nigerian Teen Fiction🌸 16+ [BOOK THREE OF YUNG LIES SERIES] *** In our world, we're quick to judge people, not knowing what they've been through or who they really are. And often, the ones who judge the loudest are fighting their own battles in silence. Kester's cold and unapproachable demeanor mask a deep-seated pain no one around him could see. He hated the world and has never had a reason to see it in a different light. Until he met Yasmine. Someone he had always had a mutual dislike for. Yasmine was a simple girl who everyone saw as lucky for dating Sterling High's golden boy and teen popstar, Zayn Lawal. What no one saw were the thousand insecurities that ran through her head and how suffocating her relationship with Zayn was behind the scenes. When Yasmine gets tasked to help Kester, someone she knew as cold and brooding, salvage his grades by the end of the academic session, she discovers that beneath Kester's tough exterior was a complex and broken soul that challenges her perceptions. And as they grow close, she becomes torn between her loyalty to Zayn and her growing connection with Kester. However, when Zayn discovers that Yasmine is tutoring his arch-nemesis, Kester Martinez "the multiracial goat", he's furious. Their relationship becomes increasingly strained, and Yasmine finally finds the courage to leave him. But the question here is, would Zayn let her go so easily? This is a tale of self-discovery, relationships, and growth. Explore the complexities of teenage life, where appearances often hide deeper truths. ONLY AVAILABLE ON MY WATTPAD ACCOUNT. "I'd rather be a villain who's respected, than a hero who's ignored." [THAT DELINQUENT] 🌺A Nigerian Teen Fiction🌺 16+ {BOOK TWO OF YUNG LIES SERIES} I sighted him coming out of the boy's bathroom, so I bounced towards him and pushed him to the wall. Emmanuel's eyes widened in fear as he stared up at me. "S-Senior Y-Yemisi, p-please..." he stammered. I glared down at him, my anger boiling over. "You think you can report me to Principal Kenny and get away with it?" I snarled. Emmanuel shook his head, his eyes welling up with tears. "N-no, Senior- Yemisi. I-I was just trying to..." I cut him off, my hand grasping his collar. "You were just trying to what? Get me in trouble? Make Principal Kenny hate me more? Eh?" Emmanuel trembled, his voice barely above a whisper. "I-I didn't mean to, senior. Please forgive me." <--------> Meet Yemisi, the notorious queen of Crestwood High Academy. With a sharp tongue and a penchant for trouble, Yemisi has built a reputation as the school's most feared delinquent. When she gets expelled from Crestwood High, her world is turned upside down. But it's not just her reputation that's on the line - her mother's status as a Nollywood diva is at stake. Forced to attend Westwood High, Yemisi must navigate a new hierarchy and confront her childhood enemy, Tyler Ogbe, the charming head boy who's now smitten with her. But Yemisi's arrival sets off a chain reaction, threatening the reign of Westwood's queen bee, Makayla Kingsley. As tensions rise, Makayla will stop at nothing to bring Yemisi down. Will Yemisi's tough exterior be enough to protect her, or will she find herself falling for Tyler's charms? Dive into the world of "That Delinquent" to find out. "Isabella-Rose wait! Rosie! Wait, please stop!" but I didn't listen I just kept going, the humiliation was just giving me enough motivation to get far away from him as fast as I can. But then then he eventually caught up and stepped in front of me and he held my big shoulders. But I refused to look at him in the eye so my eyes were glued to the ground. "Look at me." he said with such a demanding tone that I just gave in and looked up. "I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings, I told you that I love you and that I care about you, but just not the way you want me to. You're my best friend's niece Isabella-Rose. You're like my little sister. I deeply care about you, and I like our conversations, I don't want us to stop talking to each other. But I'm just way too old for you, I'm 24 you're 17 that's a 7 year age gap. That's way too old." as he said all this I couldn't stop thinking of how foolish I've been.

A heart-aching night sends Faith on a flight to New York City. Lost, heartbroken, and jobless in a foreign country, she is determined to rebuild her life. Confident in her intelligence, she believes nothing can go wrong: land a job, earn money, and start over. But when she finally steps into one of the world's most successful companies, she realizes the truth-more than half of the people around her are not who she thought they were. Behind the glamour lies a society poisoned by ignorance and prejudice. Unlike the sparks in the romance novels Faith once read, insults are hurled wherever she goes. And if there's one spark igniting with the man she has grown to loathe, it isn't one of love-it's a spark of faith.

This initially started off as a black female empowerment book. But due to certain events I've decided to "broaden my horizons" and open it up to everyone in the black community. Of course anyone is welcome to read it. I'm sure you'll find something in here that you agree with. But it will be kind of.. Lol tilted more towards blacks. Also remember it doesn't matter what corner of the world you are from. You're beautiful and if your heart is as open a your mind color shouldn't be an issue. -Jayla❤

Do not get the wrong idea about this "book." These are literally just my gathered everyday thoughts just put in a "book" form. Nothing more. I am very opinionated, and if you disagree, feel free to comment your opinion, but stay respectful.

This poem is 5 years old and is still painfully relevant. It was originally written in honor of Michael Brown, the 18 year old murdered senselessly by Darren Wilson. Today it is dedicated to the slain Ahmaud Arbery and the slain Sean Reed. May these two men rest in power and get the justice they deserve. #TheFightContinues.

15-year-old Chimamanda is one of the many black students at West Regals Highschool. She lives in Illinois, Chicago, in one of the poorer neighborhoods in the city. She is biking home one day from school when she hits a car and is admitted into the hospital. Soon after, she is expelled from her school from lack of attends and her mother is fired by her new supervisor because of her color. Since the only source of income in the Nguyen family runs dry and the hospital bills begin to pile up, they are forced to leave their current neighborhood and use the remaining money to move into Dunterham Heights neighborhood, a rich, all-in-all community. After they move, COVID-19 makes its mark and deprives Chimamanda and her family of any leftover money that was once available. Now that the talk of racial injustice begins and COVID-19, life for the only poor black family around - deteriorates.
