𝑮𝑬𝑵 had been told his whole life that crying is weakness. Growing up without a father, surrounded by chaos, loss, and constant reminders to "be a man", he learned early how to swallow pain instead of speak it. Silence became survival.
Now being in a relationship with someone gentle, patient, and emotionally open. She loves him deeply, but she can feel the walls he keeps up. Whenever gen gets overwhelmed - flashbacks of childhood fights, sudden bursts of anger, nights where he can't sleep - he shuts down instead of explaining. He laughs things off. Changes the subject. Says he's "good".
Tokyo doesn't want perfection. She just wants honesty.
As gen struggles with memories he's never processed, his fear of appearing weak begins to strain their relationship. He loves her - but love requires vulnerability, and vulnerability feels dangerous.
The story follows gen as he slowly realizes that strength isn't about holding everything in. It's about trusting someone enough to let them see you break - and choosing not to run when they stay.
