Whenever gen gets overwhelmed - flashbacks of childhood fights, sudden bursts of anger, nights where he can't sleep - he shuts down instead of explaining. He laughs things off. Changes the subject. Says he's "good". Tokyo doesn't want perfection. She just wants honesty. As gen struggles with memories he's never processed, his fear of appearing weak begins to strain their relationship. He loves her - but love requires vulnerability, and vulnerability feels dangerous. The story follows gen as he slowly realizes that strength isn't about holding everything in.
