A poem which describes the ways languages influences our whole life and the world around us.

The Kingdom of Adhara-known as the White Kingdom-flourished under moonlight, its fields guarded by the white dogwood, snowbells, and aspen groves. Prince Timothy, the kingdom's silver-haired heir, was a master archer with the clarity of frost in his eyes. From the white bamboo forests to the magnolia-lined rivers, Timothy's world was one of purity, honor, and quiet strength. But peace was never eternal. Across the border, the Redwood Kingdom grew in the shadows of crimson groves-red maples, cherry trees, and fiery fields of poppies, roses, and dahlias. Their princess, Vera, wavy red hair like fire, was feared and revered as a mistress of poisons. Her beauty was dangerous, her touch lethal, and her kingdom bound by the red flame of vengeance. When war brews between frost and flame, Timothy is torn between duty to his people and the forbidden pull toward the enemy princess. Love and revenge entwine like roots beneath the soil, as every hanging bridge between their kingdoms threatens to break under the weight of betrayal. Through rivers, villages, and battlefields, Timothy and Vera are forced to confront not only their kingdoms' hatred but their own scars. As their secret romance grows, so does the risk: for only by dismantling centuries of bloodshed can they hope to unite white and red into something neither kingdom has ever known-peace. Their love will demand sacrifice, forgiveness, and courage beyond the frost and flame. And when the last arrow is loosed and the last vial of poison emptied, only love may remain to heal what was broken. "In a world divided by white frost and crimson flame, only love dares to weave a bridge across the kingdoms."

In this poem, there's a silence that hangs over the land, and it feels strange but oddly peaceful. The story is about a man who spends a lot of time building bridges, both literal and metaphorical. But his bridges have problems, and they often fail. He really loves one of his bridges and works hard to keep it in good shape. But he has to share it with someone else, who eventually abandons it to build new bridges. The man tries to make things right, but it just leads to more pain and arguments. As he watches the bridge crumble, he wishes things could have been different. Now, there's silence in the land, and he's left with memories of what he once had, while the other person moves on to build new bridges.

I jumped off a bridge for a boy. You'll never guess which one. ~ Note for those who know me in real life: Indeed, this is based on a true story. In fact, it's partially based on mine. Not to worry- I don't plan on jumping off a bridge anytime soon. Also, don't go around trying to figure out who these characters represent in my life (not all of them do anyway)- all their names and personalities have been changed.
