I have one condition: Promise me you will never fall in love with me." Mark Johnson doesn't understand love. To him, romance is a foreign language he simply can't speak. When he witnesses the school's "Perfect President," Melissa Daphne, rejecting a confession with the same cold detachment he feels, he thinks he's found a kindred spirit. They strike a deal: A friendship built on logic, a shared campaign for the student council, and a strict pact to keep things "uncomplicated." But as the masks of perfection begin to slip, Mark realizes that some promises are meant to be broken. From the high-stakes pressure of school elections to the sweat-stained turf of the soccer field, the two find themselves crossing lines they swore they'd never touch. What happens when the boy who doesn't understand love and the girl who is terrified of it find themselves facing a future they never planned for? From the halls of high school to the life-and-death stakes of the hospital and the police precinct, this is a story about the beauty of being imperfect together. Some rules were made to be broken. Some loves are the reason why.

YAKUBU ZAINAB: My parents' marriage has always been perfect. They were the most lovely couple, a marriage I have always wanted. The respect my father had for my mother, Ah, Wahlahi, it was one of a kind. The love they both have for each other, it was like they were drunk in love. All of that, I dreamt of it. Of having it. I thought with Abdulafeez, I had all of that. But I was wrong, my marriage was breaking right in front of me. My husband isn't just cheating, he is lying to my face even after I caught him kissing another woman right inside our home. Auzubilah! ABDULAFEEZ HASSAN I married a beautiful wife. A woman who made a home out of my house. A woman who made me a man but all of that took downhill when she caught me kissing another woman right inside our home. I wanted to explain that it was never what she walked in on but she isn't going to give me the chance to. Her mind is set out on having a divorce immediately after Ramadan. But I can't let her go. I would do ALL IT TAKES to make her give me a chance to explain everything to her, to seek for her forgiveness, to seek for another chance to make it up to her, to make her believe she is the one for me and I am still the man who swore to respect her. Or so I thought. Warning from the author: This book isn't related to any real life people or real life story or incident. This is plainly fiction meant to be enjoyed. A series that would be released every Ramadan. First series in #TAKES

She ran from abuse and hid in God's house. At Kedarnath, she became a silent devotee-ringing temple bells every morning so she wouldn't scream, pretending her past had been washed away by faith and snow. Then he arrived. A sinner searching for redemption. A man who believed revenge was justice. A brother who never forgot a murder. He buys her from the temple steps, convinced she killed his brother. She lets him believe she remembers nothing. But amnesia is not innocence. And devotion is not forgiveness. Because she didn't forget what she did. She remembered everything. And when the truth finally comes out-when she tells him why she killed, and why she ran to God instead of the law-love will only be possible at the very end. If it survives at all.

Ophelia learned early that survival is quieter than hope. As the Tyrant King's wife, she lives beneath a crown that was never meant to love her. She walks his halls with care, speaks with restraint, and offers kindness the way others offer shields. Every smile is deliberate. Every silence is chosen. She does not dream of affection only endurance. She believes she is living on borrowed time. The king she is bound to, rules without mercy, without warmth, without explanation. His distance is constant. His gaze unreadable. To Ophelia, he is cruelty refined into discipline a man who could end her life with a word and chooses, inexplicably, not to. She tells herself this is indifference. She tells herself this is disgust. She tells herself it means nothing. Because believing otherwise would be dangerous. She does not see the restraint in his stillness. The care hidden in his control. The way his voice softens when hers falters. The way his hands disappear behind his back when she flinches so she never has to fear them. Ophelia believes love is a weakness she cannot afford. She convinces herself that whatever grows in her chest is gratitude, not longing. Habit, not attachment. Anything but the truth she refuses to name. What she does not know what she cannot imagine is that he loved her the moment he saw her. That his silence is fear. That his distance is devotion. That every boundary he keeps is a promise not to frighten the woman he would never forgive himself for hurting. He does not ask for her love. He does not demand her trust. He hopes only that one day she might look at him without fear. That she might sit beside him and stay. That she might see him as something other than the monster the world made him. And as Ophelia slowly falls for the man she believes will never love her, she does not realize that the most dangerous thing in his kingdom is not his crown but how deeply, hopelessly, he already belongs to her.

~Vikrant~ I wish I had a rewind button because I did the one thing I was most afraid of. I made a mistake, and now I'm living with the consequences. I knew this decision would change everything. I left her without even telling her. And I know she might be waiting for me back in India, but it's too late-I'm already in Germany. I left her just like she told me her father left her. And now I'm drowning in guilt. ~ But something has changed since I came back. It's like everything I once knew feels different, even though nothing's really changed. The places, the faces-they're all the same. But she's no longer mine. I need her back, no matter what it takes. And the cruelest part of betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. "Well, I guess they're right-everything's fair in love and war, isn't it?"

I know using they/them as pronouns seems a little threatening, but there are a lot of people who use it as their pronouns, and this is for them. But the book is written in a clear way where you won't get confused. So please give it a read. Everyone does for your books. **** Blue. A fitting name for the gender neutral pianist of a punk rock band. A name that expresses the amount of guilt that weighs one down, as well as the depression sinking one's heart. But blue is a beautiful color, one of clear skies and shining water. Just like the person, the color Blue is a lot of things. Many years ago, Blue's parents died in a car crash, resulting in their older brother Luke to raise them with the help of his best friend, Andrew. Andrew had always been accepting of Blue, making sure they always felt safe in his presence. Of course, they always assumed he was merely playing nice due to the fact he was in love with Luke. When Blue's grades begin to falter, Andrew agrees to help tutor them, bringing them closer together. Through their friendship, he helps them learn how to deal with life as the nights get long and how to begin to ask for what they want without guilt, even if it means wanting to be with him. *This book is inspired by the anime Junjou Romantica, though it is far more appropriate than that anime, so you will notice some correlation. I hope you enjoy!
