everything had gone back to normal in hawkins, indiana when eleven had closed the gate a year prior. she also got what she'd always wanted, to date mike wheeler. things seemed great, until will felt the mind flayer in him again at day of the dead. that's when the party and the rest of the gang decided to band together to help defeat the mind flayer once and for all. will sorts out his feelings with his completely oblivious best friend, who soon realizes el is not the one for him. like any other good summer, it sparks some new relationships and budding romances. but, of course something is going to get in the way of that..

Mike and Will once again come face to face with the Mind Flayer in Hawkins, a force that feeds on fear and finds cracks even in the strongest bonds. But this time, things are different, between them lies not only a shared past, but something more. As reality begins to unravel and the darkness draws closer than ever, they must not only fight the monster, but also protect feelings. Will they be able to stand their ground, or will fear and pain prove stronger than a love that has been taking shape for years?

Will and Mike are in collage, they finaly confess to eachoter they now each have a new freind they meet eachother, starngers to lovers?

Eventually finding themselves hiding out in an abandoned church on the outskirts of Hawkins, the forced break from their participation in the mission to end Vecna, and forced proximity to each other, reveals quite a bit. serves as a s5 replacement because... what the fuck was that originally written for ao3, lol. More so Mike's pov! *knowing the byler water symbolism shown throughout the show is important context for this story! colorgate, churchgate, mwtfdydgate, maxgetawayfromthedoorgate, watergate, etc etc. **This was written before pt2 came out!!! So if you read this after the 25th, obviously ignore anything that actually happens in pt2 lol. Everything they have survived, Mike and Will remain together, their love growing stronger and deeper, becoming a quiet refuge amid pain and fear. They try to return to ordinary life while dealing with the consequences of the past and the wounds that left marks not only on their bodies but deep inside them. When Will loses his abilities, a chance appears to restore what was taken from him. But the path toward that hope may lead them back into danger, and they must decide whether they are ready to risk everything to protect the love that has only grown stronger between them.

Re-write/fix-it fic of sorts, for Stranger Things (Mike/Will -centric) Starts at the end of season 3, when the Byers' have just moved out. Mike's POV, what he got up to (in my mind), for those months in between season 3 and season 4. I'm planning on keeping the basic structure of s4 there but just altering the scenes that included Will and Mike. Not touching other plotlines as much. *Not sure of the exact date of the Byer's move, Stranger Things wiki would state they were living in Lenora from Oct '85 - March '86. I would just gather that the school year or semester would start earlier than October. The series ended abruptly. Not all of us were satisfied. As a #byler4life , I definitely wasn't. So here's a post-s5 story. Everything is back to as it was 5 years ago, before November 6th, 1983. Hawkins, the places, the people, have all, almost healed. For the people of Hawkins, it was just a 'Natural Calamity', but we all know what it was. The only thing that remains are the memories, and their shared trauma. Along with healing, many more emotions from THE HEART come to light. We are gonna go further beyond their graduation. Will we finally get what we wanted? Or do we have to go on many more adventures before finally getting there? STAY TUNED TO FIND OUT.

The day was calm, but the tension rising between Mike and Will was not. It was that day in the summer of '85 when Will and Mike got into a big fight in the rain. Neither of them wanted to speak about it ever again. However, the real reason as to why that day stayed buried in their minds was much different than anyone had thought.

The war was over.But the loss stayed.Left with silence and everything he didn't say, Mike Wheeler learns how to live after the light is gone , unaware that some love doesn't vanish. It waits.
