Her words hung between us, heavier than any weapon she could've drawn.
"Your turn, Boy Wonder. What do you want?"
I should've deflected. Should've walked away, shut her down. But instead, the truth slipped out before I could stop it.
"Option one," I said, voice steady but low, "a city that doesn't need saving every night. A Gotham that actually sleeps."
She tilted her head, studying me like I was the one under glass now.
"Option two," I continued, "to prove I'm not just a shadow of the man who raised me. To build something that's mine, not borrowed."
Her eyes flickered with something sharp, recognition maybe.
"And option three..." my jaw tightened, because saying it felt like handing her a knife, "for people like you to choose the right side. Just once. To stay. To stop running."
Pirate smiled then, but it was the kind that stung.
"Careful, Grayson. Wanting things like that-" she tapped her temple with a single finger, "-is how you end up broken."
The cave went silent again, except for her laugh echoing in the dark.
