After a rescue mission goes horribly wrong and Derek ends up wounded, Chloe and the others start to wonder if they'll ever see him again. Disclaimer: MOST characters belong to Kelley Armstrong. Only minor characters and some of the ghosts are original characters of mine made for this story. This story takes place in December 2009

He thought he could handle it. Thought he could handle seeing them together, Simon and Chloe. And she thought she could handle it. Being with the brother that liked her, but not the brother that she liked-at least not like that. They thought they could handle the pain of liking each other and not knowing what the other feels, and handle the pain of knowing that if he found out, Simon would feel betrayed. And even though they told themselves they could handle it, that they were fine, all Chloe and Derek wanted to do was tell each other the three words they'd been holding in for so long: I love you. Note: This takes place after The Reckoning, except Chloe and Simon's date didn't fail and Chloe and Derek didn't end up together-yet. And credit to leelee2489 for the cover art! Here I am, running, through the darkness of the night. The cool breeze blowing against my skin, straight through my thin shirt. I felt something run past me, but I knew who. "Derek! I will find you this time!" I heard what may have been a slight chuckle. Not a human chuckle, though. More of a grunt that I recognize as a laugh. I felt a breeze again, a little stronger this time. I knew he was close. Then I heard steps behind me and... SMACK. I ran right into him. He toppled over and I got down on my knees on the ground, petting his fur. He looked exhausted, which I'm not surprised. I knew why he was weak, it was time for him to change back. He started twitching on his arm then leg, and after a couple snaps and pops it was over. I stood up and grabbed his clothes giving them to him. After he put them on he scooped me up in his arms, and kissed me. His warm but firm arms held me. His scent consumed me. Him.

Pretty much just random stuff from different fandoms. Glee, The Vampire Diaries, and various books will be included. Be prepared for scariness, funniness, and lots and lots of crying!!! XD

Chloe has been best friends with Simon and Tori since middle school. Being best friends with the two also means being friends with their adopted brother, Derek. Only Derek doesn't want to particularly be friends - with anyone. Chloe makes it her goal to befriend him after years of being acquaintances (not to mention crushing on him), and has to do it before he graduates. [written in texting format]
