Aria Fairchild; raised as a mundane, but shadowhunter blood was coursing through her veins. So after she lost her parents at a young age to an accident, she chose to follow her call to become a Nephilim. The Verlacs adopted her and brought her to the Seattle Institute, where she met Ben and Jason Verlac, the gorgeous blue-eyed fraternal twins. Jason was the life of the party while Ben was the knight in shining armor. A close friendship grew up between her and Jason, yet her attention had always gone to Ben. Love triangle ensued, but time was running out. The situation was dire in Idris and they were called to help. With a coming battle hovering over the horizon, Aria found herself frightened on the possibility of losing the people she loved all over again. Can love still survive after it was consumed by the fire that had burned the City of Glass? Will it wither away into ashes? Or will it become stronger like forged iron, and reveal its deepest content? Note: This story is written with an assumption that readers had already read the Mortal Instruments series up to its third book (if you haven't, you should read them! They're awesome!). The timeframe of the story will be parallel to TMI: City of Glass, even though the initial setting will be different because of the main characters' differences (but they will slowly merge together with the events in the original book). There will also be some cameos from the Infernal Devices series, although they will not really affect the plot of the story. I haven't finish writing all the chapters though, and some details might possibly be changed in the future. But in the meantime, any questions, comments, suggestions and critiques are all welcome. This is my first 3000 words+ story and I hope people will like it. Thank you for taking the time to read my story!

This is an alternate ending to Cassandra Clare's award winning novel "City of Glass" from "The Mortal Instruments" series. I don't own or claim to own any of the characters mentioned in this story, it's merely a short story based off of the novel. If you haven't read the book yet then I suggest you don't read this because it may have tiny spoilers (: hope you enjoy Xx ------------------------------------------------ What really went down on the shore of Lake Lyn that night?

The construction of the time machine started by Henry Branwell in 1865 has been completed. When Tessa Gray finds out about this ingenious invention started so many years ago by someone she'd grown to love, her biggest wish is to use it, to travel back in time and find out why she had Magnus Bane place a memory block over her mind like a veil. The only problem is, if she transfers back to the time when she was young, she'd only confuse herself and the people she loved. So instead of her travelling back into her past herself, she sends the only people she thinks worthy of the task: the new generation of shadowhunters. Clary, Jace, Isabelle and Alec...
