Cher Journal, nous sommes le jeudi 12 mars 2020 et j'ai le pré-sentiment que ce jour restera gravé dans nos mémoires. Ce soir à vingt heures, notre Président de la République parlera très certainement du virus qui compte désormais plus 800 cas. Cher Journal, j'ai peur pour notre futur. Note de l'auteur : (Bon vous l'aurez compris cette histoire adoptera le point de vue d'un adolescent pas comme les autres sur le COVID-19 etc. Cependant je tiens à rappeler deux choses. Premièrement ce n'est pas mon avis que je vous peins durant cette histoire. Je le précise quand même car deuxièmement c'est une oeuvre de fiction, une fiction qui se passe dans le monde d'aujourd'hui et en cohérence avec les actualités françaises du moment je le sais, mais elle reste ni plus ni moins qu'une histoire de fiction placée dans le mondé réel. Originally written for Archive of Our Own back in January 2021 a short story of Adrien who misses hugs from his Princess due to Covid-19.

'Dystopian' became a reality last year in 2020. This work is a day-by-day update on the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic from the 'bubble' of my home in Inglewood, New Zealand. The lockdown for myself and my family began on the 24th of March 2020 and the lockdown for the province where I live (Taranaki) came out of lockdown to a level 1 in which gives us almost total freedom. No masks, no social distancing; Covid virus does not exist in my province. However, the largest city in New Zealand has been in and out of total lockdown and still has active cases. My close family and some extended family committed to creating an image a day and sharing them during our lockdown. Each day, a different family member chose the medium and the subject. I chose to work to spiritualise each image I made which was a challenge because in my family the ages go from children to teens, to young adults and then on to the oldies like me.
